TRAVEL FEES WILL REMAIN THE SAME
Membership:
For the 2009/10 BRDMHA hockey season, our travel fees will remain at $325.00. This is as a result of the BRDMHA not being able to attain the necessary amount of requested ice from Essex to make our Travel Program run successfully with 2 practices per week. It was our intention to provide two practices in each week for each travel team. The extra ice would have been in the ‘old Essex arena’ however there were too many requests from other organizations and a sufficient amount of ice was not available to BRDMHA. BRDMHA put in a great effort to attain the ice from Essex however we were unsuccessful. BRDMHA will distribute ice as it has in past years with 2 practices per team every other week. Teams may purchase ice at other centers with their team funds if they choose to have a second practice on their odd weeks. BRDMHA is inquiring at other centers to see what ice time is available and Pat Campeau, Director of Travel, will communicate this with the coaches at the Coaches Meetings.
In addition thereto, in view of the fact that the Bluewater Hockey League has decided that the collection of the $3.00/person at the gate, representing eventual payment for the referees, has been eliminated, all travel players will also incur an additional $100.00 expense that will be payable to your individual team manager. It will then be the responsibility of the team manager to pay the referees in attendance for games. As the year continues on, should there be a need for more money to pay for referee services, the manager of the team, will advise you and in accordance with his/her direction, the players/parents will be responsible for the amount requested. However, should there be a surplus at the end of the season in the referee fund, the manager will provide a reimbursement to the player/parent. Cooperation by the player/parent will be strictly enforced by the Board.
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact one of the Executive members.
